how backburner came to be
In 2021 in working from home and needing a creative outlet, I started baking. As you do when you bake a batch of desserts you give leftovers to friends, family and coworkers. Anytime I would pawn off these baked goods, praise would roll in. At first I passed it off as politeness, but then requests for more came in. I realized it was more than just free sugary sweets, it was genuine enjoyment.
I realized that as much as I enjoyed baking, I wasn’t ready to jump into it full-time. Hence, Backburner Bakery was founded. As the name suggests, this is something I do in my spare time… on the backburner.
